Very Computer

We have an HP DeskJet 1200C w/o Postscript attached to an IBM
POWERserver 370 running AIX.  We need to print X Window dumps
on the Deskjet.  On HP-UX this is easy using XPR since the
DeskJet can understand the info generated using pjet and pjetxl options.
However, the XPR utility for AIX does not support color printers!!
We have tried using the PBM utilities with only partial success.  With
the PBM utilities we get black bands in the output that are outside
of the image area.

Also, the printer is setup as a remote printer on a netware queue.  It is not
directly attached to the IBM box.  

Has anyone done this or know of any other utilities, or methods that will
work?  We have spent a number of unproductive days on this and are stuck
for what else to do.  Any enlightenment greatly appreciated.

We would especially like to hear from any HP or IBM folks about this.
The answer we are looking for is not "buy an HP box to get the printer
support", or "buy an IBM printer to go with AIX".

You might try the more recent netpbm utilities from ftp.x.org. If you
get stuff outside the intended image area, you might try cropping or
something. If you can't get this to work, please post the piepline you
are attempting to use. I guess my first try would be the simple:

xwd|xwdtopnm|ppmtopj|enq
