boot error on T-500 sys?

Post by Paul Maund » Fri, 13 Jun 1997 04:00:00

Hi all,0

Trying to boot from tape on our T-500 system and I keep getting this
msg:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
WARNING:  The system is using the close console path.  Failed
initalization of console path stored in stable storage.

Booting..

PDC_ADD_VALID_ ERROR:  REQUESTOR BUS ERROR 2, PDC_STAT_MASTER_BUS_ERROR
A SYSTEM RESET MAY BE REQUIRED TO CLEAR THIS ERROR.

ERROR:  FAILED BOOT PATH INITIALIZATION
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

We are using the correct alt. boot path(52), console is on the correct
console path(44), checked all cables, put the system through selftests
and has passed them all.  Not sure if it is the console card? console?
bus converter? or what.  Any help/suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Paul Maunder

1. Best backup technology for T-500

We own multiples HP T-500 and a LOT of disk space (+500 Gb) .  We are
currently backing up all that stuff using to EXB-120 Exabyte storage
library but we are at the limit of that technology !

We are very interested in Storatek Timberwolf (1-10 DLT 7000 with
separate SCSI data paths).  Any experience with these or other high
speed backup technology ?

Thanks in advance,
