Need generic PCMCIA driver for HP 100LX

Need generic PCMCIA driver for HP 100LX

Post by Tony Olse » Wed, 22 Jul 1998 04:00:00

It's been posted many times, and I even once had it, but I lost the program
and forgot its name...

I'm looking for the DOS driver needed to use some PCMCIA cards on the HP
100LX.  The HP 200LX doesn't need this driver because it has a newer PCMCIA
PC-card driver.

Does anyone know what driver I'm speaking of?  If I even only knew the name
of it, I could look it up again, but I don't.

Thanks in advance,

                Tony =)

Need generic PCMCIA driver for HP 100LX

Have you made sure you have enabled the 100LX's PCMCIA modem detection?  As has
been pointed out recently in another post, you simply copy the autoexec.bat
from ROM (ie, drive D:) to the C: drive and edit out the Rem in front of the
the Card Installation Client TSR "d:\bin\cic100 /gen 1" line (this is also
detailed in the remarks within the autoexec.bat).  As an aside, you don't need
to do this in the 200LX since the default is to have the CIC TSR enabled...

Hope this helps,

PCN

1. Is hp-ux driver for PCMCIA coming?

Hello,

This is mostly for HP people in the know about upcoming support
but anyone else feel free to jump in.

I have 9000/743 single board computers that have PCMCIA interfaces on
them.  Currently, only hp-rt supports booting from/mounting a
PCMCIA disk.  I would like to get this same functionality when
running hp-ux on the 743 (an hp-ux driver that can talk to a PCMCIA
disk).  I have asked both the Response Center and the Sales and Support
people if this is coming and they don't know.  I was hoping someone in
the know could tell me if support for PCMCIA under hp-ux is planned and
if so, when it would be available.

Thanks for any help,

Tom
