Error accessing a CFC

I get the following error without the ?wsdl on the url:
 The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect

 The error occurred in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\CFIDE\componentutils\cfcexplorer.cfc:
line 176

 174 :                          if ( IsDefined('arguments.path') and arguments.path neq '' ) {
 175 :                                  proxy = CreateObject( "java",
"coldfusion.runtime.TemplateProxyFactory" ) ;
 176 :                                  comp = proxy.ResolvePath( arguments.path, getPageContext() ) ;
 177 :                          } else {
 178 :                                  comp = CreateObject( "component", name ) ;

 When the ?wsdl is on the url, I get this error:
 AXIS error
 Sorry, something seems to have gone wrong... here are the details:

This may seem painfully obvious, but did you set access="remote" inside your <cffunction> tag?

it would have been nice if it was that simple, but I just checked again and it is set to remote.

1. accessing a cfc remotely...

I have a CFC on a server and am trying to access one of its methods from
another server. It returns an array of strings.

 When I run the following attached code it fails and I get the following error.
 "Could not find the ColdFusion Component"

 I was under the impression that I could just put the live path in such as
this...( see 'http://..... " )

 <cfinvoke
component="http://www.mysite.com/cfcs/job_search.cfc?method=getHMTkeywordmatch"
                                                        method="getHMTkeywordmatch"
                                                        keywords="#urldecode(can_jbe_notify_keywords)#"
                                                        returnvariable="arr_job_title_list"
                                                        >
