Network manager Problems

Post by Steve Foste » Wed, 05 Jul 1995 04:00:00

I've just installed oracle developer 2000 and oracle products for windows
on my machine which runs Dos/Windows and pc/nfs 5.1a

When I run network manager to set up SQL net etc. all I get is the
following error

NMC-00028: Resource file is invalid; version 2.1.4.0.0. is required

Has anyone got any ideas (its 2.1.4.0.0. netmanger I'm running)

Also does anyone using Developer 2000 recommend upgrading pcnfs 5.1 to
pcnfs pro.

Thanks Steve....

Steve,

I had the same problem. I had Netman 2.1.4 installed and working fine. Later I
installed DEV/2000. That application
has a higher version of the Required Support Files. After that, Netman didn't
work anymore. Re-installing didn't work either.

The recommendations I got from Oracle where :

1) Install Netman (with the 'old' Req. Supp. Files) in a different ORACLE_HOME
and switch whenever you need it.

2) Install Netman (with the 'old' R.S.F.) on a different PC.

3) Use the Unix/Motif version.

4) Wait for the next release, because it won't be solved for this version of
Netman.

Greetings,
Frank

1. Problems with Oracle Network Manager 2.1.6 on HP-9000

I have been using Oracle Network Manager 2.1.6 on our HP-9000 system
running Oracle 7.1.6 to configure our network.  It works fine, and as
far as I can remember has always worked fine, but now I seem to be
getting errors in the generated LISTENER.ORA files.  They include an
extra parentheses ')' in the SID_LIST_LISTENER.  Has anyone else had
this problem?  Is there a fix?

Here is a chunk of the LISTENER.ORA as it is generated, followed by how
it SHOULD be.

Thanks,
Brian
