Hi,
I'm trying to launch the msxml.dll from C to check xml
documents for well-formedness and/or validation. Can I
just ShellExecute the dll? Or do I have to talk to the
dll from COM?

You will have to talk to the COM interfaces

Have you looked at the MSXML SDK? Quite a few snips of C++ code in there.

Ouch, I was afraid of that!!
:(
I did see an xmltree example in the knowledgebase. I'll
try to take a machete to that and port to C.

It sure is amazing to see the differences in accessing
MSXML.DLL from C#, VB and Jscript, and then comparing
that to C. Wow. What a pain!
