Hi all,

Finally I have upgraded to version 20.4 from 19.12 (How's that for
lazy?). When I first opened a*file, two extra pulldown menus appeared
in the menu bar, ie. one for "commands" and one for "LaTeX". Now however,
after logging back in this morning these menus are absent. Do I need to
fiddle with "Customize". If so which one because all the options look
like the wrong ones?

AucTeX adds the menus for you. Put
(require 'tex-site)
in your .emacs and look in the auctex-info for more information

Mathias,

I added (require 'tex-site) to my .emacs and made te customisation changes
to tex-site.el, ie. where the the TeX macros are kept on my system. I then
reloaded .emacs and opened a*file - no Auc-Tex, menu bar or anything??
The installation information in "../lisp/auctex/" is I assume irrelevant
since "tex-site.el" is already present implying that the TeX-lisp-directory
in tex.el is already correct and does not need customisation.

Do I have to byte-compile "tex-site.el" or something? I always thought
Xemacs only used "*.elc" not "*.el"

Help!

Jord

1. Latex and Bibtex in menubar

Hi,

I am new in this newsgroup.
Recently our system manager has installed
Xemacs.20.2 in our unix system.

I am interested to use xemacs for its Latex
and Bibtex capability. But I can not get them
to appear on the menubar.

I will appreciate all the help.

Chears,
Hamed
