Hi,

I want to switch the toolbar off in all modes except gdb-mode. So I
tried something like this:

( set-specifier default-toolbar-visible-p nil )
( add-hook 'gdb-mode-hook '(lambda()
                             ( setq toolbar-visible-p t )
                            )
)

But once I started gdb-mode, the toolbar appears in every mode. Hm,
clear. That is, what the code-snippet says ;). But how can I solve my
problem? Switching off the toolbar explicit for all modes except gdb
is not the right way?

Thanks
Michael

Try

(add-hook 'gdb-mode-hook (lambda () (set-specifier toolbar-visible-p t (current-buffer))))

This sets the specifier to non-nil only for the buffer being put into gdb
mode.
