How to autofill today's date as the Statement date for acct balancing in M2k1?

Post by Arachn » Thu, 18 Jan 2001 18:26:00

I don't use conventional bank statements: every week or so I connect to
their web interface to see my current balance and transactions for each
account; I press Balance this account, enter the ending balance, and within
a few seconds I am reconciled and up to date. (Since I download all my
statements I'm unsure of what benefit balancing my accounts gives me, but I
do it anyway). However M2k1 always enters the 30th of the month or similar
as the statement date. I don't know where it gets that, but I always have to
change it to today's date. Is there any way to get it to use today's date?
If not may I suggest it be a checkbox in M2k2.

You have to manually enter the statement date the first time you balance.
Every time you balance after the first time, Money will automatically enter
a date that is one month later than the last time you balanced.  If this
date is not correct, you will have to change it manually as there is no way
to get it to default to another time period other than a month.

Pressing "t" also fills in the current date.  (When the date field is
highlighted)

> You can't change the auto-fill, but typing Ctrl-D in the date field
quickly
> fills in today's date.

1. Balancing an account with today's date

Hi,

Every time I balance an account it puts the statement date to 1 month
from the last time I balanced the account.  I would like to see today's
date when I click "Balance this account"....is there a way to do
that...Cause I am tire of changing the date to today's date every time I
balance my account.

Thanks and have a nice day.
