In circuit Emulator Needed for 80C515

Post by Axel Kleinschmid » Thu, 13 Jan 2000 04:00:00

I am looking for an in circuit emulator that will support this
80C515-processor.
I only know the Hitex MX51, but it's a little bit to expensive(13000
DEM).

Who knows a cheaper one.

Check out Ciebo DB series (I forget the exact name).  If it will do the
trick it is very reasonably priced.

We have an ICE ( Trice-52), often used with SABCxxx QFP
controllers, esp the C505, C515 as we do not need to
replace the uC on the PCB. It's under 3000DM

See this info

http://www.designtools.co.nz/tinyprob.htm

Using this you can provide quick ICE access to any poduction
PCB, at very low cost. Beats messing about with QFP adaptors

Axel,
when did you last check with Hitex? I heard they reduced prices
recently, at least here in the USA. The other option for a good emulator
could be Nohau.
You might want to visit:
www.spacetools.com
for a list of most tools that support the C5xx architecture with
websites. You can look there for companies who sell in Germany.

Hi,

Also Hitex do an entry level "MX51SE" ICE that is in-expensive and is
upgradeable I estimate (on rule of thumb conversions) 4,500DM .

Hi Chris,
The Pod alone cost 2700,00 DM.
And I forgot, I need bankswitching.

Hi Robert,

I called them 2 weeks ago, so the price is actual. It may be that the
prise in the USA is lower than the price in Germany :-(.

Thanks, I'll do.
But I forgot : The Emulator MUST be able to deal with bankswitching.

Use Forth and you won't need an emulator
or simulator.

What a BS,
you can also argue use Forth and you won't need customers any more.
Sorry for being so destructive but I can't stand such a BS!

I agree!

But I would love to know  why would you not need a sim or ICE if you
use Forth?

1. Need help and info on a ZAX 178 in-circuit emulator (8048 processor)

I have a ZAX 178 in-circuit emulator for the 8048 family that I bought at a
swap-meet. Lights come on when I power it up but I cannot get Windows
Hyperterminal to connect to it. Sometimes a random character appears just
when it is powered up.

Does someone have a schematic or a manual they could sell me or xerox for
me?

Is there any support group for ZAX emulators?

There are 2 serial ports, one is marked "Terminal" the other "Host/Aux".
Which one do I connect the serial cable to and what is the purpose of the
other port?

By the way I also have a ZAX emulator for the 8051 family and I am able to
connect to it and get a sign-on message as well as send commands (although I
do not know whether it completely works since I have not connected it to a
target yet).

So according to the above I know that my serial cable and Windows
Hyperterminal are OK.

Please reply by email to the following address. (Remove the NOSPAM from the
address to reply)
