Lead Systems Programmer
Candidate must have at least 5 years of experience within a DEC/VMS
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for ongoing systems support and maintenance of all DEC/VMS
environments within AMEX Services. Significant experience with the
installation, configuration and maintenance of Open VMS (VMS 6.2 or
higher preferred), DECnet Phase V, DECnet over TCP/IP, LAT, TCP/IP
(UCX 4.2 or higher preferred) and layered product suites on VAX and
ALPHA platforms in both clustered and single node environments.
Familiarity with Storageworks disk arrays, and DECservers, is
Proven ability to work independently as well as supervise (and in some
cases manage) diverse projects. Experience conducting performance
analysis using DECps and/or ViewPoint and the ability to analyze
performance data, conduct trend analysis and make recommendations for
systems tuning. Ability to independently perform problem determination
and isolation using system monitoring and fault determination tools
including DECevent, DECamds, PATROL. Candidate must be able to write
and troubleshoot DCL command procedures, dealing with backups and
operational utilities. Experience with any of the following is also a
desirable: DECnet over TCP/IP, X.25, Windows NT, SYBASE. Must possess
outstanding organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to write documentation related to release management,
planning, and status. Ability to use PC based software including
MSWord, MS Excel, Internet Explorer, X-term, and VT emulation. Any
experience with web based information distribution would be a plus.
Ability to work on any of three shifts. Ability to work a dynamic
number of weekends.
Salary: USD 80,000.00 to USD 100,000.00 per year
