FORTRAN-Debugger more than one session?

Post by Norbe » Sat, 21 Jun 2003 18:10:50

Hi,
With my old VMS 6.3-H1 (on Alpha 1000) software I first started a
de* session with my main programm and then i started a further

....
Now I am using the fortran de* with VMS 7.3-1 ( on Alpha DS10).
The first session runs but after the spawn the session hangs up.
What can I do?

Norbert

post un
$ show system
to see if the process is in an intersting state

and see what the process is doing, has opened, is waiting for...

FORTRAN-Debugger more than one session?

Hi,
sorry, what i mean:
On my old machine with VMS 6.3 I start my main programm with de*
and within this programm I start a second process with the "call
lib$spawn" command
On the new VMS 7.3 Alpha nothing happens when i start the second
process. First i have to cancel the first de* process and after
ctrly I can go on.

I think it could be a wrong de* or system option?? Is there any
options?

thank you

Apologies if this message appears more than once
I don't know if it is relevant in this case but...
Have a look at the logical name DBG$PROCESS
and use
DBG> help debugging_considerations
to find out what it means

1. How to tell whether a session is DECW$SESSION or DECterm one?

I have the following problem: I have a program which accumulates some data
when I am logged-out (somwthing like the VM's GONE command), displays it
on the screen when I login and the discards it. What happens when I login
via Xterminal is that the session manager is run just like as it is an
interactive session and my information is gone to hell.
Is there any way to  differentiate easily between DECW$SESSION and
DECterm's session?
                                            Thanks in advance, __Yehavi:
