commands to use at the >>> prompt

Does anyone have a list of commands to use at the >>> prompt on vaxstation
II
to format the Hard disk and to copy the Operating system from the TK50 to
the disk? I have been able to boot from a standalone ver of VMS, but not
from the bin tape of VMS 5.3.

The VAXstation II does not have any formatting routines in its ROM - unlike
the VAXstation 2000.
and to copy the Operating system

You boot standalone backup and then restore from the first TK50 in the VMS
set.  There are no particular ">>>" commands involved - just B MU.

I don't know what this sentence is supposed to mean.

My guess would be that his TK50 is not, for some reason, bootable.  It would've
been nice if he'd told us what he tried and what results he got (was 5.3 a full
upgrade or just an update?  Did he mistakenly try >>>B MUA0: on a system where
the colon causes problems?  No way to tell at this point).

Disclaimer:  Hey, I understand VAXen and VMS.  That's what I get paid for.  My
understanding of astronomy is purely at the amateur level (or below).  So
unless what I'm saying is directly related to VAX/VMS, don't hold me or my
organization responsible for it.  If it IS related to VAX/VMS, you can try to
hold me responsible for it, but my organization had nothing to do with it.

1. MAIL >> SEND >> MAILER!<......> to other networks via WISCVM?

Hi netlandians.
Concerning the questions on ARPA-MAIL from VAX-MAIL
(MAIL>> SEND>> mailer!<ARPA-NET-ADDRESS>.

Has any of you who use this tried this command to send MAIL to the
BITNET via WISCVM.WISC.EDU?  I have got some mails FROM BITNET, but when
I try to answer them, the RETURN address seems very stupid, and after 3
days I get a message from WISCVM that tells me it was unable to transmit
the letter!

Any of you who knows why? Is it impossible?? Is there a bug?? Is there
some chance that it will be fixed??

Thank you for any answers!
