A3000 keyboard == A2000 keyboard ?

Post by Adam M. Costel » Fri, 26 May 1995 04:00:00

My A3000 keyboard died.  I know someone who can get me an A2000 keyboard
for free.  Will that work?

If not, where can I find a replacement keyboard?

Thanks,
AMC

I have only one problem with the A2000 keyboard on my A3000.  The
keyboard says A2000 on it, so my 3000 doesn't get full recognition.

A4000/CDTV/CD32/A500/A3000/A2000 use the same keyboard with different
connectors. A2000`s and A3000`s are totaly the same (except of design).

A second chance would be a PC-keybord with a character converter
(eprom). Info/docu available on Aminet/Hardware

No - the best choice is the A2000/A3000 keyboard with a standard PClone keyboard
to PS/2 keyboard conversion connector. They are cheap and work just fine. A
straight character converter EPROM will not provide conversion between the Amiga
and PClone keyboards. They do not speak NEAR the same protocols. You need a new
ROM in the keyboard itself.
