A2000 PC/AT Slots (Can the 2 8-bits go 16-bit?)

I was wondering if someone can help.  I have a A2000 that a customer
wants a additional two 16 bit slots (PC) added to his system.  On the
motherboard, there is two 8 bits slots with pre-fab holes in the board
for additional edge connector extensions.

If the slots are soldered in, will they autoematically work as 16 bit, or
this there a additional modification required?
