on Amiga ? cool! does it count ticks like the amiga mouse ?
I guess it is compatible with old A2600 trackball ?

I am almost positive that it will not work like a mouse without
modifications. Check Aminet for an archive on converting this and the
other Atari trackball

It just wiggles, it doesn't really work.  I bet a driver would be
possible, though, or you could use it in joystick mode with one of those
programs that lets you use a joystick instead of a mouse.

Open it, and take one of the chips out and it will work as a mouse.
I did, and it works great.

I think the problem here is to make the trackball act like a joystick.
It is MADE to work like a mouse.

Nope, making it work like a joystick is a matter of flicking a switch on
the outside.  The problem is making it work like an Amiga mouse, since the
Atari proportional input device standard is not the same as the Amiga's.

argh, could you be more precise ? remove one of the chips... hum... ;)
BTW any location in germany to get one ?

ARGH! you get a trackball, a device that allows to do analog steering,
and then want to turn it into a digial yes-no thing ? huh ? ;)

get a trackball beeing mouse compatible and you can play every game
supporting mouse steering.
