MegaChip 2000

Post by Jim Pritche » Sun, 09 Aug 1992 23:13:35

I just installed the MegaChip 2000 and Super Denise in my rev 4.x A2000.  It all
seems to be working fine - except RAD: no longer survives reboot.  Does anyone
out there know what is wrong?  How do I fix it?

My system is:

        A2000 r4.x
GVP 030 SCSI Combo 33Mhz with 4 Meg RAM
        A2090 hard disk controller
        DOS 1.32
        2 Meg Agnus
        Super Denise

2 Meg of Chip RAM is great!

Kickstart versions up to 1.3 have a bug which causes chip ram to be
reconfigured if there is more than 1/2 meg of it. I think that
SetPatch should fix it. I'm not sure, however, since I have only 1/2
meg of chip ram.

Yes, I had forgotten about this bug.  To fix it add:

SetPatch r

to the beginning of the Startup-Sequence.

1. How do I install a MegaChip 2000?

The computer I bought also came with a MegaChip 2000 which has a line that
connects to somewhere else in the computer...can anyone tell me off hand
where it connects? I believe it connects to the Gary chip, but I don't  know
where.
