I've got an A2000 and I need more 16-bit ISA slots.  Anybody know how
to easily do this with the 8-bit ISA slots?

Just solder on the additional "16 bit extension" connectors to the motherboard.  There is no additional hardware required to get the 16 bit part working.  The motherboard is wired for them, they were just left off.

Just desolder the 8bits contacts, and solder in 16bits contacts.. (or
just find "addons" to make the 8bits to 16bits and solder them in place)

Atleast this is possible on A2000B motherboards..

Just get the connectors and solder them in, it's all prepared to put
them there.

1. Amiga 2000 ISA 8-bit to 16-bit

Hello.

Where can I get simple directions for how to upgrade the 8-bit ISA slots in my
Amiga 2000 to 16-bit?

Are the slots which have to be soldered on easy to get from local PC stores? My
company has an old 386SX computer - would I be able to just remove them from
that? (I do not care what happens to the 386)

Is this a relatively easy project that I could do myself? I do not have much
experience in hardware hacking, so I would appreciate straightforward
instructions. Is it a simple matter of soldering in the slots to make them
16-bit, or does it require any other modifications on the motherboard. I have a
rev 4.3 Amiga 2000.

Thanks,
Roy
