I posted this a few weeks ago, but didn't get any serious offers. So, here
it is again:
I have a complete A500 system for sale. It is better than a standard A500,
however. I have custom-built my own solid oak case that contains all of the
hardware, and it has an external A3000 keyboard. The system doesn't really
compare to an A500 because the monitor fits perfectly on top of the case,
and because the keyboard is separate and has a much better "feel" to it
compared to the "mushy-feeling" A500 keyboards. (IMHO, anyway. :-)
Here are all the details:
A500 Rev. 6.2 motherboard with Fat Agnus and 1MB of CHIP RAM
Trumpcard 500AT Harddrive controller with 40-meg Conner IDE HD
2MB fast RAM on Trumpcard, expandable to 8MB (3 MEGs total)
Hurricane 14.3MHz 68020 accelerator board, which can be switched back to
68000 mode with a switch on the back of the computer. The board can
be upgraded with 1MB of 32-bit RAM and/or a math-coprocessor.
Commodore 1084S stereo monitor
2 _internal_ 3.5" floppy drives
2.04 Kickstart ROM, WB 2.1 installed on HD
Everex 2400 baud external modem with MNP-5 and a speakerphone
A3000 keyboard
All of the cables to hook everything up
Most of the original manuals and stuff
More about the case: It's about the size of an A2000, but shorter, wider,
and not quite as deep. It has a built-in cooling fan to keep everything
inside cool. There are 3 LED indicators on the front: red for power,
green for HD access, and yellow for the audio-filter indicator. The
floppy drives are located side-by-side on the right front. (They do not
have face plates, but they still look OK. Each one has it's own drive-activity
LED.) The case is made out of oak, and is finished with a walnut-colored
stain. The entire top comes off for easy maintnence or upgrades, and there
is plenty of room inside for other peripherals. (FlickerFixer, 2nd HD,
you name it.)
Software: I'm keeping all of my commercial programs, but I will still leave
the harddrive the way it is now. I have DpaintIV, FinalCopyII, DirOpus,
StarControl, Syndicate, and a bunch of other stuff installed on the HD.
I also have tons of PD/shareware stuff, like Term, MED, SuperDuper, HamLab,
and a whole bunch of other stuff all set up and working. (In other words,
the 40 MEG HD is almost full of just programs!)
I really hate to sell this system, since it has performed flawlessly
for me ever since I have had it, but I need to make room for my A3000.
$500 for everything but the monitor
$600 for everything, including the 1084S monitor
Or, if these prices seem too high, make me an offer!
