Memory error using TBitmap

Memory error using TBitmap

Post by Andrea Angelon » Tue, 19 May 1998 04:00:00

When I load a bitmap in a TBitmap object using the LoadBitmapFromFile()
method and bitmap size is more than 6 or 7 Mbytes, I have a memory resource
error. How can I use large bitmaps? Thanks for any suggestion.

See:  http://www.torry.webnorth.com/graphics.htm

third box down has info and download for Big Bitmap Viewer v1.01.
This component allows the viewing of very large bitmaps. Delphi 2 & 3.

Hope this helps

Cheers

1. Memory Error using Engines

Dear all,

I found a memory error when running my program.

I use Visual c++ 5 to write Open Inventor 2.5 program in Windows NT
workstation (SP4).
I am just a beginner of Window program, so I don't have much experience in
handling windows errors. (Hope you will find this error easy and give me a
hand)

My problem is now I have a program written in Visual C++ and Inventor.
I've already build the project file and ".exe" file. When I ran the
".exe", a WinNT error dialog popped-up and said "The memory could not be
read".  I also found the error sometimes was "write" instead of "read".

My program is doing animation with Engine (say, SoElapsedTime).
I was trying to disable a field connected to the Engine by
"enableConnection(FALSE)" and then enable again by "enableConnection(TRUE)".
Before I adding these codes of enable/disable. My program can run very well.

What is the best way to disconnect an Engine input and then connect it again
later?

Do you know why there is a memory error? (Windows NT problem or Visual C++
compiler)
How to solve this memory error? (Any good suggestion)

The dialog box error message is shown below:
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////
try2.exe - Application Error

The instruction at "0x004015e5" referenced memory at "0x00000111". The
memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the application
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Thank you so much,
Calvin
