Corel 5 & scanner

My new HP5p scanner came with this program. However, there is no manual
about using it. The help section is useless. There is no menu bar
showing on top of the screen. Without it, I cannot even exit the program
normally. What and where is the setting to have the menu bar showing?

Corel 5 has more than one program in it.  For instance, Draw,
PhotoPaint, etc.  Which one do you need help with?

Shirley,
You probably got Corel PhotoPaint 5.0 with your scanner. You might
check for one of the plethora of OEM books out on CorelDRAW or the
PhotoPaint manual by Peter Huess (I believe it's spelled).  Check on your
Menu bar (and if you don't have a menu bar, then you have a corrupt
install. Uninstall what you have and do another install) for VIEW and
check all items you wish to have on your screen. You are not limited to
exiting any program from FILE, you know on your Menu Bar. In Windows 3.1
double click (or click once and use menu) the "bar" button in the upper
left corner of your screen and this will close any Windows program. In
Windows95 you can do the same thing or click once on the "X" button in
the upper right corner of your screen (program).
Although HELP is better in newer versions, it also is hardly useless
in Corel 5. But you do have to know what to look for or do some searching.
Most programs today extensively use HELP to augment manuals and in some
cases replace them.

Thanks. It is the PhotoPaint program. Actually, I think this is the
only application included. Can't tell without a manual. Any clue would
be greatly appreciated.
