Answering my own post -- this way lies madness...

It's a conflict with the PageMaker Plug-Ins and RamDoubler 1.52.
Serves me right for not upgrading. Not noticed before because I
usually run a plug-in (often Build Booklet) before I print, so
I've restarted with RD off for a printing session.

1. PM6.52 and Freehand EPS problems

Thought I'd check here before I go into troubleshooting/hair-pulling
mode...

Running PM 6.52 on a Mac, printing to a postscript printer, I'm having
trouble with placed EPSs from Freehand 7.0.2. It's not that they don't
print -- they don't even get that far! PageMaker locks up a
millisecond (or so :-) ) after the Print dialog is OKed -- no progress
bar, nothing.

Files print fine in Freehand. They can sometimes be coerced into
printing by individually copying and pasting the elements into a new
Freehand file and converting text to curves -- neither of these seems
to work individually -- but sometimes not.

Anyone seen this before? I finally got the publiction out, but this
problem isn't going to go away on its own. I'll start testing things
this weekend but, since the error locks everything up and requires a
forced restart, it'll take a long time -- all clues appreciated. I'll
summarise any responses/findings.
