Hi there,
I still am on gnuplot 3.6 Beta, pl. 194, and just found a little
problem I don't recall from 3.5:
Comment lines in a file starting with the hash mark (#) seem to
be interpreted as extend over the next line when the continuation slash
is the last character:

this doesn't plot a thing:
------------------------------------------------------------------------

# plot VfilmnC(0,x,4,0.7) title "V^{/=14 tot}" with lines -1,\
plot VfilmnC(0,x,4,0.7) title "" with lines -1

this does plot the thing:
------------------------------------------------------------------------

# plot VfilmnC(0,x,4,0.7) title "V^{/=14 tot}" with lines -1,\

plot VfilmnC(0,x,4,0.7) title "" with lines -1

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was under the assumtion that lines starting with hash marks are
comments from thereon and are one liners only. Is the (to me:) new
behaviour intended, or was it in 3.5 already and just went unnoticed
on my part?

Cheers. Stefan

Comment lines in a file starting with the hash mark (#) seem to
be interpreted as extend over the next line when the continuation slash
   is the last character:

   this doesn't plot a thing:
   ------------------------------------------------------------------------

   # plot VfilmnC(0,x,4,0.7) title "V^{/=14 tot}" with lines -1,\
   plot VfilmnC(0,x,4,0.7) title "" with lines -1

   this does plot the thing:
   ------------------------------------------------------------------------

   # plot VfilmnC(0,x,4,0.7) title "V^{/=14 tot}" with lines -1,\

   plot VfilmnC(0,x,4,0.7) title "" with lines -1

   ------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was under the assumtion that lines starting with hash marks are
comments from thereon and are one liners only.

They're NOT one liners only, they apply to the whole logical line. This is
specified in the manual.
