HELP! Fatal Error with HYPERSHADER on Win2000!

Post by Matthias Sch?fe » Wed, 11 Jul 2001 07:59:24

I saw Maya being installed on Windows 2000.

When you open the Hypershader within Maya it says :
"Fatal error: Trying to save in
x:/Documen~1/username/Local~/Temp/Username.010710.0050.ma"
and then it quits the program!

In this directory Maya saves two files:
username.010710.0050.ma -   a 74kB Maya ASCII File
username.010710.0050.ma.icons -   a 14kB ICONS File

Is this normal?
How can you prevent this if it is not normal?

Is there there something wrong with Maya or with the system?

Reinstalling Maya didn't help.
Everything but the Hypershader works I guess fine.
Is Windows 2000 reinstallement necessary?

Need help!
Thanks!

That seems odd...especially that the hypershade specifically would cause
it.  This may seem obvious, but double check that the destination drive
has a bunch of free space on it...  If my drives fill up (esp. which
ever I'm using for virtual mem) that's when i start getting errors like
"failure to save in temp..."
