Good idea, the Kinetix web forum is just such a place and serves legit users
admirably.

If this group gets created, and someone finds a crack to get into it, please
email it to me.  :)

I have mailed A/W to see if they would be interested in starting a
password protected user group on their site that would basically serve
licensed Maya and PA users (including students) for the sharing of ideas
and solutions to problems.
I don't know about anyone else here but the constant 'where can I find
Maya' or 'what's better Lightwave or Maya' or 'can I run Maya on my 486'
are really becoming tiring.

If anyone else is interested in this please mail to A/W, the more mails
they get the more likely this will happen.

1. RenderMan users's group @ SIGGRAPH '97

Reminder: Pixar will be hosting a "RenderMan User's Group" meeting at
this year's ACM SIGGRAPH conference (Aug 3-8).  Like the
Birds-of-a-Feather (BOF) meetings we had the last two years, this will
be a mostly informal gathering for the purposes of meeting people,
matching names and faces, asking embarassing questions of
implementors, and general blabbing about all things related to
RenderMan.

        Time:   Wed, 6 Aug 1997, 6pm-
