FLI/FLC maker (like DTA) for UNIX?

FLI/FLC maker (like DTA) for UNIX?

Post by Richard P. Signe » Fri, 01 Oct 1993 21:50:00

I love DTA, but I don't work much on a PC.
Is there any code out there to build FLI or FLC files under UNIX?

Thanks,

FLI/FLC maker (like DTA) for UNIX?

I recently posted something on this in one of the Linux groups.
Try archie for fbm2fli02.tar.Z.
Here is a blurb from the readme...

About FBM2FLI:

The program FBM2FLI allows to generate FLI-animations
from series of single images. FBM2FLI uses the standard function from the
FBM library to read the image files. Thus it can handle various
file formats including GIF, SUN-raster and FBM. See the FBM
documentation about which other graphic formats are supported.
The program requires that the images are mapped and have 8 bit per pixel.
In contrast to the very popular "DTA" program for MS-DOS the
quantization of true-color images (eg. POV output images)
has to be done separately. FBM2FLI simply puts the prepared images
together.
History:
   25-April-93    Initial Release.
28-May-93      Corrected one bug in fppcolor.c. Now the -m option
                  should work correctly.

-----End of Blurb------------

Yes... PVQUAN16.ZIP, in Simtel20's MSDOS/GRAPHICS directory will build .FLI files
(not .FLC) from multiple .TGA files.

Frank.

1. Help with DTA and .fli/.flc

Hello, I recently retrieved DTA and used it to animate a series
of .gif files.  I was wondering if it is possible to have it output
the file in .fli format instead of .flc.  I tried to view the .flc
output file using aaplay but it would only accept .fli animations.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks,

-Marc
