on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques, in Anaheim, California,
1 to 6 August 1993. Also, this year, co-located with SIGGRAPH is
Multimedia 93, ACM's First International Conference on Multimedia!
SIGGRAPH 93 and Multimedia 93 conference activites include courses, technical
papers, panel discussions, tomorrow's realities, SIGKids, designing technology
and machine culture shows, the electronic theater, and the exhibition with
over 200 exhibitors! Join us! We hope that you will be one of the more than
30,000 people we expect to attend SIGGRAPH 93 / Multimedia 93!
Information on all conference events, hotel information, and instructions for
registering are contained within the SIGGRAPH 93 Advance Program. The Advance
Program is available in printed and on-line electronic formats.
OBTAINING THE PRINTED ADVANCE PROGRAM
To request that a printed Advance Program be mailed to you, please send your
name and surface mail address to:

ELECTRONIC ADVANCE PROGRAM
An electronic form of the Advance Program is available via anonymous ftp,
gopher, and the SIGGRAPH email archive server. Instructions for obtaining
Advance Program files using each of these methods are given below.
Advance Program text is available in three file formats:
Raw text (.text filename extensions)
ASCII text suitable for display on 80 character terminals and xterms,
and printable to any ASCII printer.
RTF (.rtf filename extensions)
Fully formatted text suitable for viewing with many Macintosh and PC
word processors, and printing to any printers supported by those word
PostScript(tm) (.ps filename extensions)
Fully formatted text suitable for viewing with PostScript page viewers,
or printing directly to any PostScript printer.
Compressed PostScript(tm) (.ps.Z filename extensions)
The same PostScript data as found in .ps files, but compressed using
the UNIX "compress" utility.
For file transfer convenience, the Advance Program is divided into the
following 8 file sets:

OBTAINING THE ADVANCE PROGRAM VIA ANONYMOUS FTP
To obtain Advance Program files via anonymous ftp, ftp to siggraph.org
(126.96.36.199) and log in using the login name "anonymous". Please use
your internet address as the password. Advance Program files are available
in the directory "conferences/siggraph93/advance_program". RTF, PostScript,
and compressed PostScript files should be transferred using the binary (image)
transfer mode of ftp.
OBTAINING THE ADVANCE PROGRAM VIA GOPHER
To obtain Advance Program files via gopher applications, connect to the
gopher server on siggraph.org (188.8.131.52). Enter the directory
"conferences", then "siggraph93", then "advance_program". Text files may be
viewed from within Gopher. RTF, PostScript, and compressed PostScript files
should be transfered to your local host before viewing.
OBTAINING THE ADVANCE PROGRAM VIA EMAIL
To obtain Advance Program files by email from the SIGGRAPH email archive
server, send an email message requesting the files to:
The subject line or body of your message must include one or more lines
of the form:
send S93-AdvanceProgram FILENAME
where FILENAME is the name of the file you wish to have sent to you. Text
and RTF files of the Advance Program are available. PostScript and compressed
PostScript files are not available due to their large size and the load they'd
put on email systems.
To obtain an index of available archive server files, use:
send S93-AdvanceProgram index
To obtain a specific Advance Program file, such as "1_s93introduction", use:
send S93-AdvanceProgram 1_s93introduction
