I am creating a scooter for a Max scene, and I do not know how to make
a shape that looks like two pieces of metal welded together, does
anybody know how I would go about doing this?  I attached a picture of
an example.  Thanks for the help.

Try putting the two peices together, and making a series of spheres that act
as your weld.  If you need to animate that, make the shere appear small, and
go with time to an easeing stop.  make a whole bunch of copies, and offset
the timing of the animations, putting them in a line along the weld seam.

Hope this helps

Sorry...can't see your attachment as most servers drop binary
attachments to non-binary newsgroups. You might want to read the 3D
Studio newgroups FAQ before posting binaries, as it is a no-no in any
non-binary group.......

http://studioblue.co.uk/3dsfaq/max_faq.txt

There are two 3D Studio binary groups:

alt.binaries.3dstudio
alt.binaries.3d.studio

Just for the fun of it, I put up a welded pipe image on
alt.binaries.3d.studio for you to see....

Hey, for some reason, I don't have the alt.binaries.3d.studio
newsgroup.  My server might not have it listed.  If you could post it
to .3dstudio, I would appreciate it, but if not, it doesn't matter.
Thanks though.

Oh well, thanks.  I'm going to try to loft and bump the weld, see if
that works.  Thanks for the help though.
