Come on, admit it. I bet you thought I meant the guitar. Obviously I'm not
better than him at guitar but better than him at using MAX. This stands to
reason because MAX wasn't even around at that time. But I wonder how many
companies use this same tactic to deceive or mislead people into buying
their products over their rival's product. For instance if Discreet was to
market 3DS MAX R3 as being "better than Softimage" there would be an outcry
from the Softimage gang and users of Softimage.
"What? MAX better than our beloved and more expensive SI? How can this be?
Have we been duped?" I wonder if Discreet could get away with this since
they didn't say at what MAX was better. I doubt if they could.
Anyway, back to Jimi (or should that be GOD?) It's been Hendrix weekend over
here in the UK and BBC2 have shown the gig Hendrix did in 1969 at Woodstock.
He really is GOD. I bet you that some wanabes went to that concert to check
out some moves and after seeing the heavy shit he was doing decided there
and then to sell their guitars and never entertain the thought of being a
guitarist ever again. I wonder how many people on seeing Star Wars episode 1
will come out of the screeing and on returning to their computers will
uninstall MAX and take up knitting instead? "Pah, me, a 3D artist/animator?
Nah, I'll just stick to playing Quake."
