I have a small image of rust which I want to use as a bg. When used as is,
it tiles and the edges are visible as lines. Otherwise it would be seemless
because it is a fairly consistent pattern. Does anyone know a way to modify
an image such as this to make it seemless when tiled? I remember there used
to be a plugin called "seemless welder" for photoshop (or whatever program)
that did precisely this. But I can't remember who made it. Help, please.

You can create a seamless tile without using a special filter. The easiest way
to do this is to start by using the Offset filter (under Filter->Other). Set it
to offset about 20-30 pixels, and to Wrap Around.

The seams will become visible in the image. Remove them using the * stamp
tool. As long as you are careful not to change the edges of the image, the
result will be a seamless tile.
