Hi!

I'm trying to make some gifs to post on the web, but my problem is that I'd
like to post a gif that is CIRCULAR in shape. When I finally save the
picture using PS, though, PS only saves it as a rectangle and fills in the
outside of the circle with the background color. Is there any way to save
this as a pure circle?

You can save it as a circle on a transparent background.
Use Save for Web to create the gif and check transparent in the options at the
top.

You have to fill the background and when producing GIF make this backgroud
color transparent... it is prefered that this background color is the same
as background color in your html page othervise some pixels will stand
out...

This is the old-fashioned way to do things. In Photoshop 6, the preferred way
to do it is to build the GIF on a transparent background and use Save for Web.
Anti-aliasing to the color of the Web page background is the function of the
"Matte" option.

Dear David

Tacits recommendation is the one to go for.

I only want to state that every single image (gif or whatever) is
always rectangular.

Youll get a gif (or a png) that APPEARS to be round or having any
other non-rectangular shape, by setting the rest of the image to
transparent.
