High Impact / IRIX 6.2 gfx bug

High Impact / IRIX 6.2 gfx bug

Post by Peter Chliae » Wed, 02 Apr 1997 04:00:00

Hello,

We have the following problem with OpenGL-based graphics
on our High Impact ( running IRIX 6.2 ):

Some surfaces are rendered as transparent ones ( invisible)
on this machine, but on Indy ( IRIX 5.3 ) our s/w runs O'k !

We tried to disable alpha channel test, but without any success.

Do we have to install an IRIX patch on our system ( Which one ? )
or there are some tricks to solve this problem without any patches ?

Thank you in advance.

1. Stereo bug, Solid Impact, IRIX 6.2

We just unpacked this machine:

   Indigo^2 Solid Impact, R4400 250 Mhz
   IRIX 6.2
   inventor_eoe.sw.2_0
   xfs file system

There seems to be a bug in Stereo viewing: ivview doesn't
double buffer; it paints the polygons directly into the
front buffer, and they flicker continuously while spinning
the view.

Normal mono viewing works okay.

Is there a patch for this?
