I'm running 3.31 and system 7.5 on a power PC 8100/80, and i haven't had
any trouble (knock on wood) :)

1. QuarkXPRess Gurus--Novice Needs Help!
I'm running QuarkXPress 3.2 on a Quadra840av w/System 7.5. I'm just starting
to teach myself some basics, and I am having a strange & unfortunately
recurring problem:
I can quite easily create a new document, place some picture boxes in it,
and then paste in some TIFFS from Photoshop... No problem, EXCEPT,
sometimes after I place some "guide lines" onto the document (to help me
line things up) I find that I can no longer paste in new images. More
specifically, I can still create new picture boxes--I just can't paste in
new images (I just get a warning beep).
The idiosyncracy seems to happen inconsistently. Sometimes I CAN make a
new picture box AND paste in a new image, even tho' my guide lines are in
place... but inevitably, just when I'm about to put the finishing touches
on something--
I suddenly get warning beeps & lose my ability to paste in images!
What's going on here? I'm I missing something stupid here, or what?
(I have found a work around...if I simply paste every possible image into
individual picture boxes BEFORE dropping in the guidelines, I'm okay...but
often
I forget something, and (w/guidelines in place) I create a new picture box
& then try to paste in my new image, only to get another beep & no new
image!)
Any help would be greatly appreciated...I feel sure this is some
stupidness on my part, but I'll be damned if I can figure out what.
