3DEM freeware landscape visualization software for Windows
95 has been updated and now provides the following
capabilities:
1. Create 8, 16, or 24 bit color 3D renderings of
landscapes from a wide variety of freely available data
including
USGS Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) of all sizes
USGS Digital Chart of the World derived DEMs
NASA Viking Orbiter Digital Terrain Models
Any topographical data file arranged as regular rows
and columns of elevation measurements. Available data
includes ocean floor bathymetry and Venus radar
altimetry.
Flexible scene selection capability lets you visually
select a view and orientation at any location on the
source map. Color control allows you to select colors and
shading from lowest to highest elevations.
2. Create 8, 16, or 24 bit color renderings of random
fractal landscapes using a built in fractal surface
generator. Provides selection of nearly infinite variation
in surface complexity.
3. Create 8, 16, or 24 bit mpeg flyby animations from any
of the above data sources. Easy to use flyby path,
altitude, and orientation selection.
4. Create Red-blue anaglyph 3D renderings or mpeg flyby
animations from any of the above data sources
5. Export images as either Windows bitmaps or as Targa
height field bitmaps for use with POV-Ray 3D rendering
software
6. Complete help file including instructions for scene and
flyby creation, as well as Internet locations of freely
available source map data.
