Epson Color 3000 color - color secrets ?

Post by Sven U. Grenand » Sun, 14 Dec 1997 04:00:00

We _love_ the output of our new Epson 3000 (17" by 22" color ink jet), but
the colors come out all wrong. The quality other than color is
outstanding.

We're used to normal Mac products where you just install and run with
everything turning out perfect but suspect that we may be asking too much
to have that happen in this case. We did a standard install from the Epson
CD but we must have missed something. Is there some trick to get the CYMK
output correct when printing from standard applications which don't have a
CYMK output option ?

Since we are coming up on MacWorld Expo and have a bunch of printing to do
we could use and sage advice to get us over this novice hump :-)

Thanks,

-Sven

Make certain that your monitor's color is correctly adjusted, and that
you have the correct ColorSync profile for your monitor (and color temp)
selected.

And after all is said and done (the first paragraph), some things need
to have the color tweaked before they print as they should.  :(

Sure. Don't, ever, under any circumstances, output in CMYK. Just use RGB
and you will be very happy.
