Very Computer

After working with Adobe Illustrator 4.1 (Windows 3.1) for an hour or so last
week, I closed it down.  Later on I tried to launch it again, but it would not
open.

I keep getting the dreaded Windows 3.x message "Illustrator - an error has
occurred in your application ..... Close or Ignore".  After choosing either of
these, it proceeds to the usual "General Protection Fault in module AI4.exe"
message.

I've tried everything, including deleting it completely from the hard drive
and re-installing.  Nothing works.

This is the first time this has happened in the year that I've been working
with this program, and now I can't open the application at all.

Any ideas??

I did a competitive upgrade from Corel 3 to Illustrator 4.1 running
under Windows 95.  Several attempts to create projects in Illustrator
ended in crashes and I never got it to work reliably.
In the end I got pissed off and now still use Corel 3 for any vector
based work.

I have no idea what Adobe is doing with this product and I have no faith
in buying any further upgrades to it...like the problems reported
with Corel version 4.  So I will avoid either and look at other
products.

Sorry this is not more helpful but I just wanted to tell you that
you are not going crazy...
