I am starting to work on a JPEG decoder and would like to display
progressive images. Does anybody know any sites where I could
get such images, since I don't want to start building an encoder first.

So I am basically looking for progressive JPEG images, preferably
16M colors, and a description of the file format.

1. Progressive JPEG scan delimiters

Does anyone know the exact specification for the delimiting of
progressive JPEG scans? Ie, the sequence of bytes that define the
boundary between successive scans in a pjpeg file. I have looked through
the IJG software for translation between baseline JPEG and progressive
JPEG but as you can understand it is quite a task to fully understand
the code.
