Go download it and test it, it's not in beta or alpha yet, it's in i-
dont-give-two-asswipes at the moment.
You'll probably need a recentish video-card to try it out, if you've
got a 3dfx lump don't even bother following the above link (Acorn-only
lusers: Just go and bury your head back in the sand.)

apparently.

I'll make up a sprite set that has no alpha channel, wont look quite as
good but it will blit to 16bit surfaces so will work on voodoo3's etc..

>What the heck is Repton?  Is it a strategy game of any sort?

It was a sort of arcade puzzle game on the BBC Micro in the '80s.

I've found that too on some tripod pages. This isn't the right NG to
discuss it, but does anyone know how to get round that, apart from not
using Tripod?

No, it doesn't work on Netscrape either. Or at least, it doesn't work on
Communicator 4.6 (IIRC)

Either that or Tripod is broken (surprise surprise :)

Infinity, surely.

For the BBC? Or is there a PC update? If so, where can I order it from
(website)?

1. Desktop Repton - time to play Repton within a desktop window!!!

APDL/PROACTION SOFTWARE
7th October 2001

Since it first reached the Acorn platform in 1985, the Repton series of games
has proven itself to be an instant hit with most members of the family. Some
like the puzzles, some like the ability to create your own levels - others
just think that the lead character, Repton, is cute [as far as green
lizard-like things go].

It is with pleasure that I can now announce the release, at RISC OS 2001, of
Desktop Repton 3 - a new version of the classic Repton game which allows you
to play ENTIRELY WITHIN THE DESKTOP! Games included within the collection are
Repton 3, The Life of Repton, Repton Around the World in 40 Screens and
Repton Thru Time; plus for the first time ever a fully multi-tasking editor
is supplied integrating with RISC OS applications just as you'd expect.

The launch date for the title is 20th October 2001, at RISC OS 2001, at a
price of 14.90ukp. It's supplied on CD-ROM, in a jewel case with a special
colour printed manual guiding you through all aspects of the game and editor.
This special edition format may only be available for a limited time, and it
really makes all of the difference!

If you wish to order, please call APDL on 020 8778 2659, email

SE26 5RN. Postage is included within the UK, but overseas customers please
enquire before ordering to confirm postage.
