Did anyone get the following msg from Checkpoint NG:

fwip: [ID 719488 kern.notice] FW-1 IP: An interface configuration command
has been issued, but the FW-1 driver could not be informed. This may be due
to the driver being removed from the system, or a failure of the fw bootd
process. If this message keeps appearing after rebooting the
 machine, please contact Check Point technical support. This message can be
safely ignored in the following  cases:
FW-1 has just been uninstalled or upgraded and has not been rebooted yet or
The machine is now in single user mode.
This message will be suppressed for the next 127 times.

I run Solaris8 (64-bit) on Sparc Netra and NG with Hot Fix 2 (limited ip
license).

Thanks.

In my case, The problem comes from the disable-syslogd-listen script
of the JASS Toolkit which add a -t option in the /etc/init.d/syslog
startup script.
Indeed when i have remove the -t option, the fwip message disappears.

1. Small office NG to CP NG VPN Questions

I'm having some problems with a Check Point NG Firewall ( Win 2K ) and
Small Office NG (Intrusion PDS 2510 RH ) in a site to site configuration.
Using IKE with Shared Secrets Like this

  Site A                                    Site B
+-----------+             VPN             +-----------+
|PDS 2500 A |  <---------------------->   |PDS 2510 B |
+-----------+                             +-----------+
      ^                                          ^
      |              Main Site                   |
      |    VPN     +--------------------+   VPN  |
      +----------->| Windows 2000 CP NG |<-------+
                   +--------------------+

I am able to establish the encryption fine but it is not very stable
I have the following problems:

1. If Internet access at site B loses internet access it will not
   restsblish the VPN's with out a reboot

2. If Site A's VPN's goes down ( we haven't determined the reason ) the
   only way to bring it back up is to initiate traffic from
   Site A --> Main Site or Site A --> Site B

So my question is Why don't the VPN's reestablish in these cases ? Is there
a keep alive ticking away to keep the VPN's up ?  Finnally if Main Site
goes down will the VPN between Site A and Site B remain Up ?

Thanks
Dave
