SSH 2.0.12 authentication error

SSH 2.0.12 authentication error

Post by EXCHANGE:CAR:5Z » Sat, 09 Oct 1999 04:00:00

I don't know what I've done wrong during the installation
of 2.0.12 on Sun w/s running Solaris  2.6, but i get the following error
when attempting to ssh to other nodes:
Disconnected; authentication error (Authentication method disabled.).

Yet, I can ssh to the sun w/s from other nodes.

What am I missing?

Run the server in debug mode (./sshd2 -d)
and it should give you some info as to the problem.

I have had a similar problem.  I have never encountered this before.
The only difference between this installation and others that I have had
successful is that this binary was cross-compiled as the machine doesn't
have compilers installed.  The config file (/etc/ssh2/sshd2_config) is
exactly the same as a working one and the passwords are working as I
have temporarily enabled telnet until I get sshd working.  I enabled
debugging with -d 10 and it didn't give me any more information.  I am
going to try -d 100 and changing the syslog facility.  Do you have any
ideas?

Thanks much!
