Here is a snip from his website. Now this is a person that I would trust (NOT!)

Also, avoid Turley's pirating "friend" Jeff 'Ruby*er' Hurlburt, for his
continual recommendations of piracy (especially software programs still being
sold), misappropriation of copyrighted material without permission, publically
lying as to the definition and practice of piracy as recommended by him and
other pirating jerks, hate of legitimate Apple II developers, and generally
being too dense to understand why his publicly supporting piracy is wrong and
hurting the Apple II community. Ignore his lies and his trying to appear "nice"
and "helpful"-- he'll lie and promote illegal activities to you without
thinking twice, just like a illegal drug dealer. Jeff Hurlburt's lies and
bull**** about piracy are a major source of harm to the Apple II community, and
as he is unwilling to change his opinion, he should be made very unwelcome
under ALL circumstances. Thieves have no honor, and this conartist with a slick
tongue and hate in his heart can not be trusted or even tolerated.

Could someone please help me find the articles in Deja News in wich
Rubywand is advocating piracy? I'm not having any luck locating them.
Perhaps Deja News is filtering them out. In any case, I believe these
articles were posted during the two month period when I was off CSA2
(and the 'net) because of an overload of homework and housework (work on
the house, NOT what a maid does).

Sorry, you won't find any. The closest thing you will find is a post by
Rubywand that a "copy" or AppleWorks 2.1 existed at Asimov! That's the basis of
The Mates losing his cookies. AGAIN!!!

Well, rats! It's been just a couple months since old Natey awarded
my Real Pirate's Badge. Now someone is fixing to blow the whole deal.

(Hey, Slick, just pretend Deja News is like A2-Delphi. That way there's
no telling how many posts may have been "lost".)

Wait a minute!

You got a pirate's badge? Nathan didn't give me one. Damnit. I want one. If I
don't get one from nathan, will someone else sponsor me, as I really want to be
a part of the club...

I'll sponsor you! Just tell me that you once pirated a piece of software and
I'll send you a certificate of piracy! Of course, I'll want one in return.
After all, it's guys like us that killed the Apple II line of computers!

i know what you mean.  i even ADMITTED that i had a pirate copy of a
game when i was a kid.  (that was what? >15 years ago?)  -I- didn't
get one, either, even when Nate has an "if you've EVER done it, you
will be one FOREVER!" attitude....  hmmmm....

Okay, Steve.  -I- will nominate you, if Nate won't, so long as you
nominate me, okay?  :)

Dear Willie,

It is fine to score a few anti-piracy points; but, then, no one
here supports software piracy. Ranting against perfectly valid, non-rant
applications for "Real Pirate Badges" falls short of being appropriate.

By the way, in the last 24 hours, two pieces of email have been
received, one from an A2-Delfi official and one from a typical A2-Delfi
defender complaining in one way or another about "piracy".

Both messages included admissions of software piracy as though this
were some sort of in-group intro for speaking to me. Since neither
person is a software reviewer with 15 years experience who can obtain a
piece of new software merely by asking for it, they picked the wrong
in-group.

If you are concerned about piracy deeds, get an A2-Delphi account
and ask around.

    Hey, KNOCK IT OFF !!!!!

comp.sys.apple2 is a discussion group of the Apple II computers, not
about your piracy deeds !

This is getting out of hand and irrelevant. I am not interested to
hear anyone's rants.

I seriously don't care if you broke the law ... everyone jay-walks sometime
or another across the street.

I only want to see comp.sys.apple2 is about discussions on the Apple II
computers. Not about someone selling crack, not about personal attacks. For all
I care, I don't want to know if anyone here is straight or not ... Let's keep
comp.sys.apple2 as what it had been set up for, discussion on Apple II
computers.

For all I care, Nathan does one-hell-of-a-great job on his Apple II FAQs.
He's a great programmer for the Apple II. Other than that, I don't care if he's
christian, which college he attends to or even who he works for.

I know comp.sys.apple2 is not a moderated channel, but if whing on some Mac
soul stepping into the channel by mistake, then I don't see why you don't whing
on someone that's off-topic half of the time.

Been there, done that. Though I don't participate in Delphi actively ...
yes Nathan, Delphi is *STILL* damn slow, and it costs me money to go on the
InterNet. I only have 1Mb quota a day on campus to do my stuff - and I have
other things to get out of the InterNet off. Other than that, I have to pay a
commercial ISP account, and the country town I stay in, the lines can't handle
faster then 21.6k. Don't forget, I am not in great America, I am in Australia.

As I understand it, people were acutally *killed* in the past, in other
countries (Remember WWII?). My action of telling you about this fact now makes
me a mass *er!!! *Much* worse than piracy or drug dealing! I *Demand* the
highest (or is that lowest) trophy-honor from N.M.

(Someday in the future, the sun will explode. I guarantee that this makes me
responsible for the death of the entire planet)

A2-Delphi is dog slow in "great America", too.

Keep up your fine work with the Treasure Chest Project.

P.S. Actually, considering the new Real Pirates Badge nominations, your
anti-piracy rant was just right for the occasion!

     Good news!

     Willie's rant did the trick!

Normally, this duty would fall to Natey; but, he is busy sewing the
yellow and black bunting for his Natey's Mateys pirate booth at KFest.
Fortunately, my Real Pirate's Badge allows me to handle the induction:

Being as the above have been nominated, have demonstrated the proper
qualifications, _AND_ have been ranted on in a Csa2 thread, each is
entitled to a Real Pirate's Badge!

I am personally convinced that if I ever sat down with Lisa 816 (written by
Brian P. Fitzgerald, another great A2 programmer who's dissappeared) and
wrote something decent for the IIGS I would lose molecular cohesion and fade
into the planes of crosstime and appear on an Earth covered with Woz machines.
