This is mostly because people use the free demos that came with their
Pentiums and the AOL disks that come twice yearly before a person gets
in touch with a **real** server... then stays there until either the
server fails to meet their needs/expectations or they can get cheaper,
which statistics show is between 6 months and 5 years.
Being an Apple user, I've only changed once -- and that was only
because the free email server I was using shut down, not by my choice.
