We have a client in Japan who wants to convert some of our old programs
from DOS 3.3 to PRODOS. We have done this on occasion with the aid of
the book "Apple II User's Guide" by Lon Poole which has the only
comparison of the two systems I've seen in print. Do you know of any other?
In some cases our conversions have amounted to little more than writing a
"STARTUP" program to "RUN" the original "HELLO" or "BRUN" a binary
program copied from one disk to another with COPY II PLUS, but some have
needed some surgery to remove "MAXFILES" and some of the other five
commands that were stripped from DOS 3.3 to make room for the PREFIX
routine and stay under the 10K limit Apple execs imposed on the system
programmers.
Any help you could provide in this area will be deeply appreciated and
appropriately rewarded, one way or another.
Thank you, Adrian Vance
