Problem with pppd/rp-pppoe

Post by marco arenhoev » Mon, 10 Dec 2001 09:17:04

hi

i have a problem within FreeBSD 4.4.. i wanted to run rp-pppoe-3.3,
but with the standard freebsd4.4 pppd (version 2.3.5) pppd returns the
following error msg:
pppd[283]: unrecognized option 'pty'

so i tried to compile the newest pppd with bsd support (pppd
2.3.11),but it says: 'Support for this system has not been included in
this distribution'

i just want to get an adsl connection...can anyone help me ?

first of all out of curiousity why would you use ro-ppoe isnt that for linux
? Roaring Penguins is actually a good ppoe client client no doubt, but if i
were you i would rather use dhcp or slip..dhcp shuld work fine for your
adsl.
anyway good luck with your fbsd venture.
