troubles with the *@freebsd.org mailing lists

Post by Eric Timm » Sun, 10 Nov 2002 05:29:24

Since my ISP gave me a non-reverse resolving IP I can no longer route mail
through my gateway, so I've had to go back to routing mail through my email
provider.  I'm an attbi subscriber; however, I use a third party email
address, so I've been trying to send mail through their smtp server.  It
works fine going to most places, but trying to email to any of the
freebsd.org mailing lists results in it getting bounced, and the mail
returning to my email provider in the form:

specific error is:

server.

This is permanent error, and the message will not be retried any further.

I am subscribed to the list fine, and am receiving messages constantly, but
can't post =(

Any help would be appreciated.

1. FreeBSD.Org - Mail/Mail List problems

Hi

Has anyone answer this problem.

I receive posts from the mail lists to which I am subscribed.

HOWEVER.

Could it be that freeBSD's server is doing some DNS check which is failed by
my ISP server?

I dunno. The problem is I cannot reach anyone at freeBSD.org to get their
advice. Could someone please pass this on to an appropriate mail list.

Thanks

David
