I tried making the ERD after booting to a DOS prompt. However the files in
the Repair Folder are 7.5 MB and obvioulsy could not be copied on to the
disk. These are the files in the folder:
AUTOEXEC.NT
CONFIG.NT
DEFAULT
NTUSER
SAM
SECSETUP
SECURITY
SETUP.LOG
SOFTWARE (5.62 MB)
SYSTEM (0.98 MB)
Quote:> Reinstalling WinME on the System drive C:\ destroyed the Windows 2000 boot
sector. Try booting the
Quote:> Windows 2000 Setup disks and choose "R" for Repair, then "R" to use repair
process, then "M" for
Quote:> manual repair, choose "Inspect Startup Environment" and "Inspect Boot
Sector" only.
> You'll need your current ERD to run the repair process. If you don't have
a current ERD then you can
Quote:> probably run the Windows 2000 install and choose to upgrade the existing
Windows 2000 installation,
Quote:> though you'll probably lose some system settings and will likely need to
reapply your service pack
Quote:> and any other updates or try manually creating an ERD. Don't run the
upgrade from within WinME, boot
