OLEDB Rowset object MoveFirst fails for datatype varchar 2000

OLEDB Rowset object MoveFirst fails for datatype varchar 2000

Post by bijoy » Thu, 14 Nov 2002 04:39:42

I am using OLEDB CDynamicAccessor object to retrieve data
in my COM developed using ATL. Datatype of one of the
columns retrieved by the query is varchar[2000].
The database server is SQLServer 2000.

When I do a Movefirst on the Rowset object it throws an
error(hr = -2147217891). The error descrption
says "Requested conversion is not supported". If I remove
that column from the query or retrieve only first 255
characters of the column it works fine.

Have anyone come across this problem? Please advise.

1. The Active Directory datatype cannot be converted to/from a native DS datatype

Hi, there,

Has anyone had the following problem when using ASP to
modify user's Proxy Address with ADSI?

When I use ASP to call PutEx to modify a user's proxy
address in AD, it always returns this error, "The Active
Directory datatype cannot be converted to/from a native DS
datatype". Any idea to fix it?

Here is my code:

objUser.PutEx 2, "proxyAddresses", aProxyAddress

of course, aProxyAddress is a array. The code works fine
with VBScript, but not in ASP.

Thanks a lot.
