In 2 hours: TechNet chat (Troubleshooting Group Policy)

Assuming your friendly news server plays ball and gets this to you in an
efficient manner, your'll be reading this around two hours ahead of our next
TechNet Chat. As many of you know, we've been running these once a month for
the past three months and have more chats scheduled for the future (for
example, next months chat covers Software Distribution with Group Policy).

TechNet Chats provide you with direct and real-time access to Group Policy
Developers, Testers and Program Managers. This mornings chat focuses on
Troubleshooting Group Policy using GPMC. We have a good set of hosts ready
to answer your questions, including those directly responsible for GPMC
itself. If you have questions about Group Policy Result/Modeling/Reports or
perhaps some issues with how Resultant Set of Policy (RSoP) works or even
some of the "under the cover" aspects of Group Policy (log files, etc) then
this chat could be of great value to you.

For those of you who have not participated before in TechNet Chats it's real
easy! Just navigate to
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/it...
and select the appropriate chat. You find yourself at a simple, web-based
interface. Type your questions in the bottom window and we'll be there to
give you answers in the top window. Simple!

The chat starts at 10am Pacific. We'd love to see you there.

1. TechNet Chat: Troubleshooting Group Policy Using GPMC

Hopefully, many of you have had a chance to download and become familiar
with the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC). One of the key goals of
this release was to leverage Resultant Set of Policy (RSoP) data and present
a more unified and effective set of tools for planning and troubleshooting
Group Policy.

To this end, we have a TechNet Chat scheduled for this coming Thursday (22nd
at 10am Pacific) that focuses directly on Group Policy Reports, Results and
Modeling and how these features play a key role in improving the efficiency
with which you can troubleshoot Group Policy. That said, TechNet Chats are
driven by you - the Group Policy admin, developer, etc - and so we'll be on
hand to answer questions you might have around Group Policy troubleshooting
in general.

We've coordinated a few of these chats in recent months and hope they are
exciting to you as a great way to pose your real-world questions directly
(and in real time) to Group Policy developers, testers and program managers.
We have a good range of people from the product group signed up to
participate in the chat. We're here to help and hope to see you on Thursday.
