LSASS.EXE Hogging CPU

LSASS.EXE Hogging CPU

Does anyone have any idea why the lsass.exe process would be taking over the
CPU (95-100% continuous usage) on a W2K machine? This is not a domain
controller, it's a member server in a mixed mode environment. It is running
WINS, DHCP, and Services For Macintosh. SP2 is also installed. After a
reboot everthing is cool for a while. Then at some point, lsass just takes
over the CPU. So far I haven't determined a particular thing that triggers
it.

If need be, I could provide more details, but I was just wondering if
someone had an idea off the top of thier head.

Thanks

This article speaks to a memory leak in lssas.exe:
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q262/5/39.ASP .
Hope that helps.

As I was tidying my desktop, I noticed a link titled "LSSAS.EXE taking up a
good share of CPU..."  That's here:
