Get XSeteup or TweakUI (Both freeware).
They have a tool to restore that icon.

1. 'Show Desktop' icon - how can I install
On one of my machines Win2K displays a 'show desktop' icon in the tray. On
my new notebook w/Win2K installed, this icon isnt displayed. How can I add
'show desktop' to the Win2K sytem tray?
